In Practice

We provide practical and authoritative support for your practice. Here's how.

Every member of the FGDP(UK) receives the Primary Dental Journal (PDJ) four times a year. Each issue is themed, and includes an array of evidence-based, best practice articles.

The PDJ provides a practical resource for the dental team – so you can confirm existing good practice or identify areas for improvement. Each issue offers three hours of verifiable CPD with an accompanying quiz.

We publish authoritative standards and guidance, which are respected across the profession, as well as by regulators and indemnifiers, for general dental practice.

Members have access to a wide range of dental and medical journals, keeping you up to date with the latest evidence to support excellence in practice.

The Faculty also fosters research in general dental practice: working with others to draw upon the wealth of knowledge and evidence available in the primary care domain.

Our mission is to improve the nation’s oral health, and we seek to influence the development of dentistry by drawing on the best available evidence. Our current programmes show how we are taking this work forward today.
