National Adult Oral Health Survey - honoraria for practices

Public Health England has confirmed that honoraria will be available to all dental practices who agree to host its fieldwork teams for the 2017/18 Oral Health Survey of Adults attending General Dental Practices.

In the UK, dentists prescribe more than 5% of all antibiotics and approximately 60% of the total metronidazole in primary health care. Antimicrobial resistance is a global problem that leads to antibiotics no longer being effective in treating even simple infections.

FGDP(UK) says more action needed on marketing of sugary food and drink

The Faculty of General Dental Practice UK (FGDP(UK)) says further action is needed to tackle the nation’s sugar habit. The Faculty is supporting Sugar Awareness Week (30th October – 3rd November 2017), organised by the Action on Sugar campaign group, which aims to build public pressure to persuade the government and the food and drink industry to implement stronger sugar reduction policies.
