In the Autumn of this year FGDP(UK) will begin the process of rolling out a new e-portfolio for its members called Touchstone. Up until recently Touchstone has been in a pilot phase of testing which involved 150 participants. That pilot phase is now over and the feedback has been evaluated and acted upon.
The feeback from piot participants has been extremely positive. The main benefits of Touchstone were perceived as the information sharing facility and it's ability to facilitate the CPD process throughout a whole career. Among the feedback on experiences were: "Excellent CPD tool"; "Facilitates reflection"; "Encourages planning and updating"; "The peer review tool validates learning"; "Easy to access and user-friendly"; "Will make developing my MJDF portfolio a lot easier"; and, "Having used other e-portfolios, this has been an enjoyable pilot to experience".
Touchstone will be launched through FGDP(UK)'s Divisions from October, and will be available to all members by the end of January 2011.
