The Faculty of General Dental Practice has announced its membership fees for 2019-20.

For renewals in October 2019 and April 2020, fees for Full Members have increased in line with inflation to £339 per annum (£203.40 after higher rate tax relief), with a discounted rate of £326 (£195.60) for those who have gained the MJDF award within the last six years.

A premium has been introduced for the first time for Fellows, who will pay £390 (£234 after 40% relief), while retired members will continue to pay £105, and the cost for DCPs increases 2.3% to £45.

Subscriptions for Associate Members have decreased to £65 in the first three years after graduation, and £100 thereafter (£60 after higher rate relief). All other rates remain the same, including for Joint Members and Fellows of the Faculty of Dental Surgery.

Ian Mills, Dean of FGDP(UK), said:

“As the professional home for primary dental care, we want to support dental professionals throughout their careers. Our new fee structure should be attractive to early career dentists looking to establish a life-long relationship with the Faculty, whilst at the same time ensuring that our Members and Fellows continue to enjoy additional status and benefits. With membership now starting at little more than £5 a month, we aim to establish a strong dental community which will provide the foundations for the new College of General Dentistry.”
