The Faculty of General Dental Practice UK (FGDP(UK)) has awarded the final Fellowship in its 29 year history ahead of its transfer into the College of General Dentistry.
Tariq Mahmood Ashraf, a general dental practitioner in Wimbledon, has been awarded the Diploma of Fellowship, which recognises the diversity of an individual’s expertise and their achievements in delivering excellence in primary dental care. The award was recommended by the FGDP(UK) Fellowship Assessment Panel following successful completion of the assessment for Fellowship, and was ratified by the FGDP(UK) Academic Board. An opportunity for formal presentation will be arranged in due course.
Those awarded Fellowship of FGDP(UK) may use the post-nominal designation 'Dip. FFGDP(UK)' in perpetuity, and are automatically eligible to join the College of General Dentistry as Fellows.
Thirty-nine other individuals were awarded Fellowship of FGDP(UK) in 2020-21; a list is available at https://www.fgdp.org.uk/press-release/fgdpuk-fellowship-awards-2020-21
