Nomination for elections will soon be held for five regional seats on the National Faculty Board. The Board sets the strategy for the FGDP(UK) and oversees its implementation, and elected candidates will serve a three-year term.
This is a significant time to be elected onto the National Faculty Board, as Members sitting on the Board when the College of General Dentistry is fully established, are intended to form the first Council of the new College.
Full Members and Fellows of FGDP(UK) are eligible to stand, and will receive a call for nominations, with a link to the online nomination form, on Tuesday 3 March 2020. Those in the South & North Wales, West Midlands, North East & North West Thames, South East & South West Thames and Northern Ireland divisions will be invited to stand for election to the corresponding divisional seat.
Candidates will then have until 5pm on Thursday 2 April 2020 to submit a completed online nomination form, including details of two Full Members or Fellows of FGDP(UK) (from any division) who support their nomination.
Following the closure of nominations, all Full Members and Fellows will be eligible to vote. Instructions for online voting will be sent by email in late April, and ballots will close on Thursday 28 May. Results will be announced shortly thereafter.
Further details of the elections and a description of the role are available here, and information on eligibility and admission are available in the FGDP(UK) Standing Orders.
