FGDP (UK) is working to attain independence as a new College of General Dentistry with the aim to pursue a Royal Charter.
We are seeking to appoint a Chair for a new Academic Board this summer to help us achieve our ambitious agenda and distinctive vision, underpinning our standing as a postgraduate educational institution.
The Academic Board will oversee the constitution and quality of the Faculty’s qualifications. The Chair will provide strong leadership, harnessing and maximising the contribution of fellow Academic Board members to ensure the Board can effectively support, challenge and scrutinise FGDP(UK) courses.
We are looking for a successful academic leader with high levels of personal and professional credibility, both in the constitution of qualifications and with our general dental practice community. Proven experience operating at Board level is essential.
The successful candidate will be an effective Chair and have an appreciation of good governance; the ability to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and be a highly effective ambassador for the Faculty.
The Chair of the Academic Board will be accountable to the FGDP(UK) Faculty Board.
The Chair will be contracted in the role for a commitment of typically one session a month, and recompensed accordingly.
