Phil qualified from University of Liverpool (BDS) in 1991 having previously gained a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology. He was awarded the Diploma in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in December 2007 and this was followed by an MSc in Restorative Dentistry from the University of Leeds (2010). He recently gained a PGCE in postgraduate medical education from Edge Hill University. Phil has worked in general practice since qualifying - both privately and in the NHS. He has been appointed as a Vocational Trainer/Educational Supervisor on 14 occasions in the North Western Deanery, mentoring 16 Foundation Dentists.
As well as working in general practice, Phil is a Specialty Dentist/Hon Teaching Fellow in the Restorative Clinic at the University of Manchester Dental Hospital. He is also a Clinical Support Manager for IDH, helping and supporting over 60 clinicians. He examines for the Overseas Registration Examination (ORE) in London, and at Manchester Dental Hospital. Phil is interested in all aspects of restorative dentistry from single crown provision to full mouth rehabilitation.
