Course Content

Postgraduate Diploma

The course is comprehensively evidence-based, practically taught and assessed.

There are 11 units, all of which include a practical session. We aim to teach the theory behind the techniques as well as ensuring that you are able to perform key dental procedures. We cover comprehensive training standards, both simple and complex, including the IRMER training standards in CBCT. The course covers all of the GDC’s core CPD requirements. Each unit concludes on a Saturday so that the busy practitioner will spend less time away from their patients. More detail on the syllabus is available here.

    Teaching Methods

The Diploma consists of a number of components, including self-directed distance learning (30 credits), contact learning (45 credits) and completion of the clinical component (45 credits).

To help, you will be assigned a UK-based tutor and a tutor group of 5 to 6 participants. All of our tutors have previously completed the Diploma and therefore know the difficulties you will face first-hand. You can contact your tutor directly to organise observation of surgical procedures, or to seek assistance when completing 4 clinical cases (6 if sitting for the Advanced Certificate).

Tutor assistance is available for up to two years after the teaching element of the Diploma is completed.
