FGDP(UK) members are invited to attend the annual study day of the Welsh Dental Society - Y Gymdeithas Ddeintyddol, which takes place on Saturday 13 October at the Marriott Hotel in Swansea.
The day runs from 8.45am-5pm and begins with a lecture by Dr Mike Hughes FFGDP(UK), an implant dentist and restorative referral practitioner in Bangor and Liverpool, on the role of CBCT scans in implant treatment planning.
He is followed by Dr Elen Everett of the mineralised tissue research team at Cardiff University, who will be discussing the latest research on antimicrobial materials for use in endodontics.
Please note that most of the day will be conducted in Welsh. Non Welsh speakers are welcome to attend but should be aware that simultaneous translation will not be provided.
At 11.30am, the keynote speaker (in English) will be Professor Alastair Sloan, Dean of the Cardiff University's School of Dentistry, outlining his vision for future dental education in Wales. This will be followed by a question-and-answer session (also held in English) including Colette Bridgman (Chief Dental Officer for Wales), David Thomas (Postgraduate Dean) and Professor Sloan.
Lunch will be provided, as will a minimum of 5 hours' CPD.
