Lunch and Learn Webinar: What is Stress and Why am I Experiencing it?

8 April 2021

Thursday 8 April 2021, 1pm

Speakers: Dr Heather Buchanan and Dr Koula Asimakopoulou

Part of our 'Lunch and Learn' series of FGDP webinars held in collaboration with The College of General Dentistry (CGDent) and ProDental CPD, this webinar will touch on how the pandemic has impacted the wellbeing of dental professionals, and will explore some of the psychological explanations about what makes us experience stress and typical responses to stress.

By the end of this talk, participants will:

1. Understand the origins of stress
2. Be familiar with how people often respond to stress
3. Be able to consider the pros and cons of common stress management techniques

Drs Buchanan and Asimakopoulou are psychologists from the British Psychological Society (BPS) Division of Health Psychology, and the co-authors of Dentistry during COVID-19: Psychological advice for dental teams, policy makers and communicators, which was recently co-published by the FGDP, CGDent and BPS.

The webinar will be free to view live and open to all members of the dental profession. CPD certification and access to the recording will then be available from ProDental CPD on a chargeable basis.
