This webinar will explore psychological techniques that have been developed to support people at times of stress.
The third in our series of 'Lunch and Learn' talks on this topic, held in conjunction with The College of General Dentistry (CGDent) and ProDental CPD, it builds on the previous two events, What is Stress and Why am I Experiencing it? and Dealing with stressors using CBT techniques.
By the end of this talk, participants will:
1. Be familiar with the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) model of the ‘mind bully’
2. Be introduced to some distancing techniques from the ‘mind bully’ in order to deal with stress
Drs Buchanan and Asimakopoulou are psychologists from the British Psychological Society (BPS) Division of Health Psychology, and the co-authors of Dentistry during COVID-19: Psychological advice for dental teams, policy makers and communicators, which was recently co-published by the FGDP, CGDent and BPS.
The webinar will be free to view live and open to all members of the dental professions. CPD certification and access to the recording will then be available from ProDental CPD on a chargeable basis.
