FGDP(UK) Masterclass in Facial Aesthetics

AIM

To improve the level of aesthetic care delivered to patients through training and education of dentists in disciplines relevant to modern facial aesthetics.

TEACHING & ASSESSMENT

Five day course includes knowledge-based lectures, anatomical dissection and a hands-on practical day using patient volunteers.  Feedback on cases undertaken will be given on Day 5 and the final assessment will consist of the presentation of a clinical case.  The course meets the requirements for IHAS registration of the clinician. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Participants need to have a licence to practice dentistry (BDS, LDS or equivalent, or national diploma); registration with the General Dental Council or equivalent; a working environment that enables the study and completion of 9-12 months of commitment to the programme, as well as be computer literate. 

DURATION

5 days training over four months, followed by a period of five-six months in which to submit a clinical case.

CREDITS

Participants who were awarded the certificate can take 10 'other' credits towards the FGDP(UK) Career Pathway.

On successful presentation of a clinical case, participants will be awarded a "Certificate of Satisfactory Completion" 9-12 months later as well as 35 hours of verifiable CPD for course attendance.
