The FGDP(UK) Career Pathway allows primary dental care practitioners to transfer educational credits from postgraduate education and training.
The FGDP(UK) accreditation is open to individual practitioners can apply to have their prior learning accredited.

Practitioners who are currently undertaking, are considering undertaking or have completed a postgraduate course that is not currently accredited towards Stage 2 of the Career Pathway may apply to the FGDP(UK) Credit Transfer Committee for the course to be considered for credits.
Programmes can be considered for accreditation, if:
- They are at level M (level 7 of the English National Qualifications Framework);
- Management programmes will be considered from level 5;
- They are subject to external quality assurance;
- They are relevant to primary dental care;
- If they require students to undergo a successful assessment in order to receive the final award.
