Patient information
Welcome to the FGDP(UK)'s information for patients
This section of our site is designed to help you, as a member of the public, find out more about the training and education of dentists and members of the dental team.
There is also information about how our organisation helps dental professionals to provide the highest standards of care for patients.
| The Faculty of General Dental Practice (UK) is based at The Royal College of Surgeons of England in central London. We provide education and training to all members of the dental team, and help set standards for dental care in the UK. |
What's in the patient information section
As a patient, your voice is represented in the FGDP(UK) by our Lay Advisory Group (LAG) made up of members of the public. You can read about the work of the LAG in this section, as well as how to raise any concerns you might have about postgraduate training and standards in dentistry.
There are also articles, press releases and documents that you might find useful, as well as links to other websites with helpful information on dentistry. You can also find out more about other organisations in dentistry and the definition of dental abbreviations.
We are also putting together a list of frequently asked questions which may help in answering some common questions about dentistry.
Do you have a question that isn't answered in these pages? First check what the FGDP(UK) can and can't help you with - if you think we might be able to help with your query, then please contact us at fgdp@rcseng.ac.uk.
