Key Skills in Primary Dental Care study group for DCPs (London)

This programme provides educational support for DCPs working through the Key Skills in Primary Dental Care as identified by the FGDP(UK). These are:

  • Medical Emergencies
  • Infection Control
  • Record Keeping
  • Radiography
  • Legislation
  • Team Development
  • Communication and Complaints Handling

The programme aims to support participants in developing their knowledge and understanding of each Key Skill so that they can be applied to their practice. Participants will also be provided with invaluable information and support to prepare Key Skills portfolios for assessment by the FGDP(UK).

Dates and fees

The programme comprises approximately 15 sessions (the number of sessions may vary slightly according to the progress of the programme). Participants are expected to attend each session.

Provisional dates for the first 10 sessions are:

  • 6, 13, 20 and 27 May
  • 3 and 10 June
  • 9, 16, 23 and 30 Sept

A further five dates in October/November 2009 are to be announced. All sessions will take place at The Royal College of Surgeons of England (Central London) from 6pm-8.30pm.

Thanks to funding from the London Deanery, the FGDP(UK) is able to offer this programme at a fee of £120 per participant (payable in advance and non-refundable).
