e-ssociate membership

The FGDP(UK) has launched a new membership category for dental undergraduates. From July 2007, dental students can join the Faculty as e-ssociate members, which provides access to a range of benefits.

E-ssociate membership is free of charge and is available to dental undergradutes in the final two years of study.

About us...

Formed in 1992, the FGDP(UK) is the academic home for general dental practitioners (GDPs) in the UK. Based at The Royal College of Surgeons of England, it aims to promote excellence in the standards of patient care in general dental practice by encouraging involvement in postgraduate training and assessment, education and research.

The FGDP(UK) supports the career development of GDPs and recognises the value of an integrated dental team in modern dentistry.

...being about you

With the recent development of a general professional training (GPT) curriculum for new graduates, and the possible introduction of a mandatory formal assessment to mark completion of GPT, it is becoming ever more important to develop an ethos of ongoing professional development right from the beginning of a dental career.

The FGDP(UK) is dedicated to supporting all GDPs, regardless of career stage, in their pursuit of the highest standards of practice. The launch of e-ssociate membership is part of a series of Faculty initiatives to raise awareness of the opportunities for career progression beyond initial qualification, and to build closer ties with students as they leave the undergraduate environment and seek a new academic home.
